After a little criticism by seniors and people, PCB decided to make some changes in the Pakistani T20 squad for 2021. The changes were made by considering the performances of the players in international and domestic T20 formats.
Wicket Keeper and former captain Sarfaraz Ahmad, and Haider Ali have replaced Fast bowler, Muhammad Hasnain, and Batsman, Azam Khan. Pakistani opener, Fakher Zaman has replaced Khusdil Shah in the Paksitani T20 squad.
Although, the decision of Sohaib Maqsood is on pending because he got injured in the National T20 cup’s match against Northern. Doctors Advised him to undergo MRI scans of his lower back.

The Chief selector of the Pakistan Cricket Board has described that the changes were made by keeping in mind the performances of the players in domestic matches and the previous record.
He said that we have reviewed the performances of players and the decision was made after the team discussion, we have decided to put Fakher Zaman, Haider Ali, and Sarfaraz Ahmad in the team to achieve some balance.
He further said that these are the experienced and in-form players, so they will provide strength to our side. He said for the dropped players that it is a tough time for them, they should focus on their performance and if they will prove that they deserve it, they will be selected in ICC men’s T20 2022 in Australia.
He also appreciated the performances of Batsmen in the National T20 cup. He said that we have seen some extraordinary cricket in the national T20 cup, it will boost the confidence of the players at UAE pitches.
The T20 cup has given them a chance to analyze the form of each and every player and to for the best combination of the world T20.
Pakistan has been added to Group 2 of the world cup. Pakistan will start its world cup campaign against India on 24 October 2021.
