Pakistan beat West Indies in their first warm match by 7 wickets with 5 overs to spare. The first warm-up match of the ICC t20 world cup played today between Pakistan and West Indies. West Indies won the toss and decided to bat first, Babar Azam also said that if he would wins the toss, his decision will be the same also.
Pakistani bowlers gave a fantastic performance and didn’t give an edge to the windies batsman. West Indies was only able to score 130 runs in 20 overs with the loss of 7 wickets.
Shimron Hetmyer scored 28, Kieron Pollard scored 23 and Chirs Gayle scored 20 and remained the top scorers for the windies’ side. Pakistani bowlers bowled beautifully, Haris Rauf, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Hassan Ali took 2, 2 wickets each while Imad Wasim took only 1 wicket.
Pakistani openers then came and gave a good start to the innings, Captain Babar Azam remained the top-scorer and scored 50 runs off 41 balls. Fakher Zaman scored 46 runs off just 24 deliveries.
It should be noted that the Pakistani team will play their second warm-up match with South Africa on 20 October and will start the official world cup campaign on October 24 against traditional opponent India.
