The defending champions of the ICC men’s T20 world cup got out on just 55 runs against England in their first match of the world cup.
According to the details, the English captain won the toss and decided to bat first. The English bowling line-up literally destroyed the West Indies batting line-up. They didn’t give any edge to the windies from the beginning.
The windies team was not very emerging, they had some classical and experienced batsmen ut they couldn’t survive against strong English bowlers. None of the Windies players was able to enter the double-figure, the biggest inning from their side was from Chris Gayle of 13 runs only.

Shimron Hetmyer, Evin Lweis, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, and Andre Russel scored 09, 06, 03, 05, 06, and 00 sequentially.
As the target was nothing for the opponent team, so in the reply, it could be considered that the English side would have achieved the target in 3, 4 overs. But, that wasn’t the matter, the English team also faced some hurdles to get the victory. At the end of the day, England won the match by 6 wickets. Jos Butler remained not out and scored 24 of 22 balls, Jason Roy scored 11.
From the Windies side, Akeal Hossain took 2 wickets and Ravi Rampaul took 1 wicket.
